.NET Developer supports the development and maintenance of technology solutions that meet the needs of a cloud-based data and document centric organization while adding value to the customer experience.  Create and maintain data intensive web and backend applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  •       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  •       5+ years of .Net programming experience.

Financial Internship

The Municipal Advisory Council of Texas is seeking students interested in business to work with us and learn about public finance and the municipal bond industry. Interns will gain hands-on experience as well as an opportunity to work in a professional office setting. Interns will work with our staff on a daily basis to gain an understanding of the information we provide, who uses the information, where the information comes from, and the benefit our organization provides to our members. The primary responsibilities of the interns will include entering assessed valuations, tax rates, and principal taxpayers for municipal entities in Texas; archiving historical documents; and special projects as they arise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have strong analytical and/or financial skills, be detail oriented, and be able to take direction.
  • Graduated or currently working towards an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Works well individually or as part of a team.

Work Environment and Benefits:

  • Flexible work schedule up to 19 hours/week

  •             Network Administration and Security - Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi routers. Configure and maintain DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP and Active Directory Servers
  •             Exchange / Office365 - Purchase, maintain and monitor licenses. Install, configure and maintain client and server components. Assist users with Outlook mailbox maintenance and configuration.
  •             Backups - Configure and monitor server, workstation and database backups. Maintain and swap out air-gapped backup storage media.
  •             Server Administration - Install, Configure and patch operating systems on local Windows Servers and hosted VMs.
  •             Hardware purchasing/configuration/installation/inventory tracking - Laptops, monitors, printers, network and server hardware
  •             User Support w/3rd Party Software - Windows, Office, Adobe products, Foxit PDF reader
  •             Events Support - Interface with event space staff to coordinate tech needs including network, projector and A/V equipment. Support in-house staff in preparation for events including badge printer, registration software.
  •             Phone System - Administer extensions with rotating or moving staff. Troubleshoot hardware problems and interface with phone hardware supplier and phone service provider as needed, install and configure new hardware as necessary.
  •             Building Security System - Ensure continuous and error free operation of Cameras, Fire Alarms, Elevator phone.
  •              Broadcast Emails - Assist staff in formatting and sending broadcast emails to membership and industry members.

Optional/ Bonus Skills/Duties:

  •            Cloud Service Administration - Research, Monitor, Configure and deploy IaaS, SaaS and PaaS assets in Azure and AWS portals. Monitor and report monthly costs for cloud assets.
  •            Dev Ops - Support in-house developers with CI Server, source control, deployments.
  •            Data Migration (import/export) - Acquire, inspect and process data files from outside sources using in-house or 3rd party tools.

    Required qualifications

    •      Bachelor's degree preferred and 1 year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
    •      Must be able to work well with deadline driven projects on a daily basis. 
    •      Attention to detail
    •      Be self-directed and take initiative
    •      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
