Financial Analyst

Seeking an entry-level municipal credit/financial analyst to prepare credit reports on municipal bond issuers in Texas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have strong analytical and financial skills and be detail oriented.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or related field.
  • Works well individually or as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of governmental accounting, financial audits, and municipal bonds preferred.

Financial Internship

 

The Municipal Advisory Council of Texas is seeking students interested in business to work with us and learn about public finance and the municipal bond industry. Interns will gain hands-on experience as well as an opportunity to work in a professional office setting. Interns will work with our staff on a daily basis to gain an understanding of the information we provide, who uses the information, where the information comes from, and the benefit our organization provides to our members. The primary responsibilities of the interns will include entering assessed valuations, tax rates, and principal taxpayers for municipal entities in Texas; archiving historical documents; and special projects as they arise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have strong analytical and/or financial skills, be detail oriented, and be able to take direction.
  • Graduated or currently working towards an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Works well individually or as part of a team.

Work Environment and Benefits:

  • Flexible work schedule up to 19 hours/week
  • Paid internship - $20/hour
