Please join us for the Women in Public Finance 28th Annual Conference! WPF has grown to more than 950 members nationwide with 23 regional Chapters. This national Conference is our chance to gather and explore timely topics together. We hope you will join us for the Welcome Reception on Wednesday and the Conference on Thursday followed by the Founders' Awards Reception. Stay Friday for the post conference and other networking events including a community service event. We look forward to seeing you!

Wednesday Activities

WPF Board and Chapter Leadership (Invitation Only) meeting will be help at the hotel on Wednesday.
4:00 - 5:00 pm Issuer Only Meet Up will be held at in Marisol on the Club Level of the hotel. Push CL in the elevator.
5:00 - 7:30 pm Welcome Reception for Conference Attendees will be held at the hotel outside in Eventide Gardens. Music, lawn games, drinks and food. This event is included in your conference registration.

Fiona Ma, CPA

California State Treasurer

Fiona Ma is California’s 34th State Treasurer. She was first elected on November 6, 2018, with more votes (7,825,587) than any other candidate for treasurer in the state's history and reelected on November 8, 2022. She is the first woman of color and the first woman Certified Public Accountant (CPA) elected to the position. The State Treasurer’s Office was created in the California Constitution in 1849. It provides financing for schools, roads, housing, recycling and waste management, hospitals, public facilities, and other crucial infrastructure projects that better the lives of residents. California is poised to become the world’s fourth-largest economy and Treasurer Ma is the state’s primary banker. Presently, her office processes more than $3 trillion in banking transactions. She provides transparency and oversight for the government’s investment portfolio and accounts, as well as for the state’s surplus funds. Treasurer Ma oversees an investment portfolio that currently averages over $200 billion—a significant portion of which is beneficially owned by more than 2,200 local governments in California. She serves as agent of sale for all State bonds and is trustee of billions of dollars of state indebtedness.

Tonya Reiman

Nonverbal Communication Specialist and Best-Selling Author

Tonya Reiman is a Nonverbal Communication Specialist. She is a media personality, keynote speaker, consultant and corporate trainer. In addition, she has authored three books: The Power of Body Language, The YES Factor and The Body Language of Dating.

She has provided expert body language analysis and knowledge of communication in print, radio and various TV media such as Fox News Channel, The Today Show, Good Morning America, Access Hollywood, EXTRA, and Fast Money. Furthermore, she contributes to articles on body language and persuasion which are featured in prints such as Cosmopolitan, Time Magazine, US Weekly,The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Men's Health, Women's Health and Woman's World.

Tonya Reiman's passion for body language began in her first year of college at Pace University when a psychology professor came nose to nose with her in order to demonstrate the significance of "personal space". Building from that pivotal moment, she later graduated from Pace University and began her independent research of non-verbal communication. Due to the disciplines' non-traditional nature, she was forced to create her program as she studied. In addition, She received a degree from the State University of New York in Communication.

For over a decade, Tonya honed her skills in the fields of training, communication and influence working with executives and staff in the financial industry. Her passion for hypnosis also proved useful in this arena and assisted many clients in furthering their goals.

Today, her keynotes, seminars and workshops assist companies in growth and effective communication. She is skilled in customization providing keynotes specific to the needs of the group or organization.

10:00 am - WPF Members Boat Cruise Brunch: Join us for a Post Conference Event Boat Cruise - Board the Flagship and enjoy brunch and drinks on this three-hour cruise taking advantage of the amazing views from the glass-enclosed deck or outdoor observation lounge. Departing from the Sheraton Marina.
1:30 pm - Walking Tour will depart from Lobby Bar Area.
